Grassroots Healthcare Expands Access to Medical Services in Mountainous Areas

Grassroots healthcare networks in the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang are helping improve access to medical services in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Despite difficult terrain and long distances, local medical staff and village health workers bring basic healthcare closer to residents, serving as a vital link between communities and the wider healthcare system.

Through regular health check-ups, health education and guidance on disease prevention, they help residents better understand and manage their health. Their proactive support is particularly important for people living in isolated mountainous communities, where access to medical facilities can be limited.

By providing timely care and raising public awareness of healthcare, these grassroots networks help improve local health outcomes and ensure that more people can benefit from essential medical services. Their efforts also contribute to narrowing the healthcare gap between remote communities and urban areas, strengthening the delivery of social welfare and promoting better health for people across the province.
