Burabai, May 29 (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with his Belarusian counterpart Andrey Kobyakov in Kazakhstan on May 29 to discuss measures to further bolster bilateral partnership, on the sidelines of the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasia Economic Union.
At the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance the efficiency of the Inter-Governmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Science-Technology Cooperation, while creating favourable conditions for products of both countries to enter each other’s market.
The Belarusian PM stated that Belarus is willing to back Vietnam in exporting a number of products to the country, including farm produce, seafood, garment and textiles, consumer products and electronics.
The Vietnamese side affirmed that it is ready to discuss with Belarus the expansion of affiliation in the manufacturing of agricultural machinery and automobile.
Both leaders pledged to assist their enterprises in boosting partnership and diversifying their cooperation through transferring technology, setting up more joint venture factories, and opening representative offices in each country’s territories.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung thanked Belarus for giving Vietnam a helping hand in the country’s national defence and construction, expressing his hope that bilateral collaboration will further grow in all fields, especially economics, trade and investment.
He highlighted the significance of the signing of the FTA between Vietnam and the Eurasia Economic Union, saying that it is a breakthrough in the economic, trade and investment ties between the two sides.
PM Kobyakov said he is delight at the progress of bilateral ties, stressing that regular meetings between the two sides as well as meetings on the margins of international events are important for the growth of bilateral partnership.
Regarding regional and international matters, both leaders voiced support of the maintenance of peace, stability and maritime and aviation security and safety in the East Sea, as well as the settlement of dispute through peaceful measures in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
