Quang Nam, July 27 (VNA) – Golfers from clubs worldwide will compete in the Accor Vietnam World Masters Golf Championship, being held in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue from September 6 to 12.
The championship's organising committee said the tournament was open to players aged 35 and over.
More than 200 players from 20 countries and territories will compete in age and handicap divisions with four rounds of the 72-hole Stableford at Da Nang Golf Club in Da Nang city, Montgomerie Links in Quang Nam province and the Laguna Lang Co golf course in the central Thua Thien-Hue.
The shotgun first round will start on September 7 and the final and the award ceremony will be held on September 11, with a total prize money of 10,000 USD.
The championship, which has been held in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand over 20 years, will be hosted for the first time in Vietnam.
Accor's Chief Operating Officer and golf enthusiast Patrick Basset said it was an honour to take part in such a major golf event.
"We are excited to break new ground in our sports involvement in Vietnam, with the launch of the Accor Vietnam World Masters Golf Championship 2015.
"This tournament will welcome hundreds of golfers and onlookers, for playing at Da Nang's world-class golf courses, while pampering themselves in our best-in-class hotels.
