He made the statement at a reception in Hanoi for newly-appointed Turkish Ambassador to Vietnam Akif Ayhan.
Vietnam has been working to lift its wide-ranging relations with Turkey, the Deputy PM said, adding that Turkey today is among Vietnam’s biggest trade partners in the Middle East and Southern Europe.
He noted that trade between the two countries was forecast to hit 2.2 billion USD in 2015, up 30 percent from last year.
Minh asked for the new ambassador’s support in luring more Turkish investors for infrastructure and industrial projects in Vietnam and increasing the number of Vietnamese guest workers at Turkey’s construction projects in and outside the country.
Vietnam and Turkey inked a bilateral trade agreement in 1997.
