Can Tho, November 15 (VNA) – A Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) industrial technology incubator was put into operation in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on November 14 to help build quality human resources for Vietnam.

The facility, which locates in the Tra Noc II Industrial Park in Can Tho city – the centre of the country’s largest rice and fruit producing region, is also expected to contribute significantly to increasing the value of local agricultural products and the income of local farmers.

Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong called for businesses of the two countries to invest in the incubator and pledged that the city will facilitate the operation of the facility.

Meanwhile, RoK’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy Yoon Sang Jick described the facility as a symbol of the two nations’ friendship, adding that 20 RoK’s enterprises are waiting to move into the complex.

Construction of the Vietnam-RoK industrial technology incubator was started in November 2013 with a total investment of more than 21 million USD, with 17.7 million USD funded by the RoK side.

The facility is equipped with a 4,000 sq.m laboratory with modern machinery and equipment to serve both research work and product quality test, and workshops for the trial production of new products.
