Rung Hoa Biotechnology Joint Stock Company – The “Bank” for Flower Seedlings

Rung Hoa Biotechnology Joint Stock Company in Lam Dong Province's Da Lat City has been known as the first in Southeast Asia which produces seedlings using in vitro technology. It has now become Vietnam’s important “bank “ for many new high-yield varieties for export.
Since it was established in October 2003,  Rung Hoa Biotechnology Joint Stock Company decided to apply bio-technology to produce varieties of seedlings on a total area of 1,7ha of land in District 8, Da Lat City and invested in a 2,000m2 lab with modern equipment which has  a capacity of 12 million plants/year. The company focuses on producing varieties of flowers which are favoured in foreign markets, namely  gerbera, Statice, lilies, daisies of different varieties and baby’s breath.

Da Lat is considered the centre for producing flower varieties using high technology in the country..

Thanks to a high quality and reasonable prices, the company has exported many varieties of flowers to selective foreign markets. In 2006, the company started exporting  one million seedlings to Belgium and then  four million and seven million in  2008 and  2010 respectively to  New Zealand, the Netherlands, Belgium and China.  

Seeing the increasing demand for flower seedlings, the company expanded the area for growing seedlings to 5ha in Da Lat and built a farm of 20ha in Da Sa, Lac Duong District in Lam Dong Province to grow lilies. In 2014, the company continually upgraded its lab to 4,000m2 with a productivity of  24 million seedlings/year and a modern nursery of 4,000m2. It invested a synchronous automatic system of  watering, fertilizing, light and temperature which help save time, human resources and increase productivity. The company provides stable job for more than 500 labourers in the locality.

Operating with the motto: “Quality-technology-service”, the company boosted the application of technology and imported modern machines from France to ensure quality and meet the strict requirements of its partners. The company takes pride of being the first unit in Southeast Asia which has applied in vitro technology to producing flower seedlings. Besides providing flower seedlings, the company also provide the market with other products, such as fresh flowers, forever fresh flowers and clay flowers.

Da Lat takes the lead in providing high quality fresh flowers for the domestic market
and step by step affirms its flower trademark in the international market.   

The company has now  become a favourite destination in Da Lat with a showroom featuring thousands of flowerpots including varieties of temperate and tropical flowers, especially specific flower varieties of Da Lat such as orchids, cymbidium orchids, lilies, big daisies and green apricot blossoms.

To promote the production of flower seedlings, the company supports farmers and  gives them technical scientific measures.

To promote the trademark of Da Lat flowers in the foreign market, the company continually promotes the application of technology to the research and production of flower seedlings. It also supports and transfers new technology to local farmers.



The company exported 24 million flower seedlings in 2014 and 28 million in 2015, becoming a “bank” to provide  seedlings for many markets all over the world, including Taiwan, RoK, Singapore, Japan, Australia and Malaysia. The company also provides about 10,000 forever flowers for Southeast  Asian markets, the Middle East and South Africa; 20,000 flower pots and 3 million flower branches for the domestic market on the occasion of Tet 2015.
