Programme promotes initiatives for community benefit

Da Nang July 19 (VNA) – The En Xanh (Green Swallow) 2017 programme, which aims to promote business solutions to social and environment issues, was introduced by the Centre for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP)  in central Da Nang city on July 18.

Launched on a national scale on June 20, En Xanh aims to be a long-term and large-scale programme, which will help promote business initiatives for the community.

An En Xanh festival is set for August 19-21 with scientific workshops and a gala night to honour outstanding initiatives and individuals in 2017.

Addressing the event, Ha Thi Thu Thanh, Chairwoman of the board of directors of the CSIP called for the involvement of individuals and organisations in finding, honouring and expanding business initiatives.

Many businesses and individuals launch community business initiatives to address social and environmental issues, but they are usually spontaneous and fragmented.

The programme is expected to foster cooperation, laying a foundation for all initiatives, big or small, to spread and bring about more benefits to the community.

In the framework of the event, a talk was arranged, discussing challenges in business activities for the community’s benefit.

As a non-governmental and non-profit organisation, the CSIP promotes the development of social businesses and social initiatives in Vietnam and countries in the region.

Established in 2008, the centre has provided support for 147 entrepreneurs and social businesses, which apply sustainable business solutions to address social and environmental challenges.
