Long Bien Bridge To Undergo Maintenance

TResolving the serious downgrade of the Long Bien Bridge, the Ministry of Transport is starting a project on reinforcing the bridge to ensure urban traffic safety of Hanoi by 2020.

The project, worth about 300 billion dong,  is divided into two phrases. The railway in the middle of the bridge will be consolidated in the first phase and then the maintenance of the road of the bridge in the second stage.

To ensure safety on the bridge’s railway,  the whole  fundamental structure  will be consolidated. The left original spans will add steel bars and damaged sleepers will be replaced by new ones. The first phrase is expected to be completed in December 2015.
