Young Photographers’ Festival 2017

More than 180 photos capturing daily life in Vietnam were displayed at an exhibition which opened in Hanoi on October 10. These photos were selected from nearly 3,247 entries sent to the 2017 Young Photography Festival by 658 entrants across the country.
The festival, the second of its kind, presents vivid images of the land, people, culture and socio-economic development of Vietnam through the lens of Vietnamese youth, thus contributing to promoting Vietnam’s beauty to international visitors.


 Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien cuts the inauguration ribbon of the exhibition.


“Mam song” (Seed of Life) by Tran Quang Vu from Ho Chi Minh City wins the first prize of the festival.
Photos show the youth’s thinking and views.
 Photos win consolation prizes.
 The exhibition attracts a large number of foreign tourists.

 “Seeing the photos that were sent to the festival, one will not only see the creativeness of young photographers and their messages conveying life’s breath, but also an insight into the youth’s thinking and views of society to provide them with favourable conditions for development in the new period.

According to this festival’s Art Council, most of photos met the criteria in terms of quality and artistic value. The festival offered a platform for young photography lovers to show off their talents, boost creativity, and exchange experiences with each other.

The event is hosted by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Ministry of Education and Training.


 First prize winning photo: “Mam song” (Seed of Life) by Tran Vu Quang Huy from Ho Chi Minh City.
Second prize winning photo: “Sac Mau Tam Thanh” (Colours of Tam Thanh) by Le Trong Khang from Quang Nam province.

Third prize winning photo:  “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) by Nguyen Quang Huy from Nam Dinh province.
Third prize winning photo: “Rau qua Viet” (Vietnamese Fruit and Vegetables) by Ho Dang KHoa from Binh Thuan province.


Consolation prize:”Muc Dong” by Chu Viet Bac from Ha Giang province.
