The Vietnam- Germany Steel Pipe Joint-Stock Company was built on an area of 8.2ha in the Binh Xuyen Industrial Zone of Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province. Since its establishment, the company has rapidly developed and gained prestige for its high quality steel products. In July 2003, the company’s steel pipe factory was put into operation with 10 lines manufacturing black steel pipes and two lines of galvanized steel pipes. These production lines operate under the modern technology of Germany and the US with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year. In the same year, the steel pipe factory was granted a certificate of ISO 9001:2000 by the Det Norske Veritas (SND) Organization of Norway. After nearly four years of operation, in 2007 the company’s steel products occupied 15% of the country’s steel market.

The company’s products are diversified. Besides major products, namely black steel pipes, galvanized steel pipes, cold rolled iron sheets and steel coils, the company has also manufactured many new products, including stainless steel products, steel nets, steel building components and steel frame houses.
 

 

Thanks to its high quality and prestige, the company’s products have been used in several large national construction projects, such as the Thanh Tri Bridge, Vinh Tuy Bridge, Phap Van Bridge, My Dinh National Conference Centre, the Keangnam Building in Hanoi, Thang Long Cement Factory, Hoang Thach Cement Company, Pha Lai Thermal Electricity Plant and Sai Gon-Trung Luong Highway.

The company not only occupies the domestic market, but exports over 30% of its products to large foreign markets, including the US, Canada, the EU and other countries in the region such as Indonesia, Laos and Myanmar. It is now a reliable partner of both domestic and foreign investors and contractors.

To meet the increasing demand of the markets, the company has continually invested in technology, machines and varying its products. It has also paid much attention to ensuring the quality of products through different measures, including the strict supervision of management and production using the quality management system of ISO 9001:2000 and the application of the environment management system of ISO 14000 for the target of sustainable and environment friendly development.
 

Currently, although the domestic steel sector is facing tremendous difficulties caused by direct impacts of the economic changes both at home and abroad, the company maintains its production due to good management, modern technology and a strong distribution system. In recent months, the productivity of construction steel has reached a record number, nearly 30,000 tonnes with a total turnover of over 400 billion VND.
