Traphaco was established in 1972 as a unit of the Railway Medicinal Service with the task of making medicine to serve the sector. In 1994, it became the Railway Medicine Production Workshop and then the Pharmaceutical and Medical Material and Equipment Company under the Ministry of Transport and Communications that specialized in producing and trading pharmaceutical products and medical materials and equipment. In 1999, it was privatized and named the Pharmaceutical and Medical Material and Equipment Joint-Stock Company, and then Traphaco Joint-Stock Company in 2001. 

So far, Traphaco has been granted a license by the Medicine Management Department of the Ministry of Health to manufacture and put 230 products into circulation and 110 of them are now produced. At present, the company has 10 main products that are the result of scientific research and the renewal of production technology. The sales of these products account for 80% of the company’s business.

Manufactured according to the motto “New Technology and Traditional Features”, Traphaco’s products have gained trust from domestic customers and have gradually carved a niche in some foreign markets, including Cambodia, Belgium and th Ukraine. The company has two production factories, one built on an area of 10,000m2 to produce western medicine and one covering 40,000m2 to produce oriental medicine.

In the context of integration and development, to create its own trademark, the company has researched and invested in advanced equipment and new technology, such as the concentrated circulating extraction technology, microwave vacuum drying technology and dry steam disinfection technology in herbal medicine production that bring about high treatment effectiveness and safety for patients.
 

 

Recently, Traphaco researched and manufactured successfully a liver tonic- Boganic- with soft capsules. The materials for producing the product are provided from a high quality and clean material growing area in Vietnam. This product won VIFOTEC Award 2011, bringing the second largest turnover to the company.
To meet the increasing demand for preventing diseases and beautifying of customers, Traphaco has diversified its products and invested in production lines of functional foods and pharmaceutical-cosmetic products. Some products, such as Antot Lysine, Livercyn and Abfuco are now sold on the market.
With the view of “Considering science and technology as the central factor, the market for its direction, the growth as its impetus and quality to pledge with customers”, Traphaco has affirmed its position and trademark in the pharmaceutical sector in Vietnam. Its products have continually been selected as “High quality Vietnamese products” by customers, from 1998-2011, and won the “Vietnam Golden Star” Award in 2003 and 2010. It received the title - “The Most Famous Brand in Vietnam’s Pharmaceutical Sector” in 2009. In 2007, Traphaco was awarded “Labour Medal, second class” by the State President and won the VIFOTECT Award for its Boganic product in 2011.
Apart from continuing investment in technology and bringing into full play its strength in the domestic market, Traphaco has started expanding in other countries, such as Cambodia, Myanmar, Belgium and the Ukraine to increase trade and create a stronger brand name. Using traditional medicinal methods together with modern technology, Traphaco has become well known both at home and abroad for high quality and safe pharmaceutical products.
