786 safe food supply chains are in operation and 253 are certified as safe food chains according to the criteria of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The chains contribute to providing safe agricultural products and food for the capital.

The reception and processing of information reflecting risks and incidents that cause unsafe measures for agricultural, forestry and fishery products is also carried out timely. It ensures that the people's feedback is not missed and processed quickly. The sampling, checking, and monitoring of food safety are focused on fresh products for daily consumption in Hanoi.
Hanoi is currently maintaining and developing 141 safe food linkages from production to consumption, where over 40 protected brand names have been built such as Ba Vi hill chicken, Soc Son hill chicken, Son Tay cane chicken, Van Dinh duck, Dai Thanh longan and Boi Khe fragrant rice.

The sub-department also supports units to develop and apply advanced quality management programs in food processing and production such as VietGAP, HACCP, ISO 22000, in order to improve quality and ensure food safety; promote development of specialized agricultural production areas, ensuring food safety with over 5,000 hectares of safe vegetable growing, 40 vegetable models applying the Internal Quality Assurance System (PGS) in 40 communes, wards and townships of 17 districts with a total area of over 1,700 ha.

The sub-department has continued to maintain and develop “Hanoi Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Food Traceability System” from the domain name www://check.gov.vn to the address www://check.hanoi.gov.vn owned by the Department of Agriculture and Hanoi Rural Development.

In the first nine months of 2021, the sub deparment took 1039 samples to check the quality and food safety of agro-forestry-fishery products. Currently, there are results of 1019/1039 samples with  962 samples that passes (94.4%) and 57 violated samples (5.6%).

The receiving, post-checking and self-publishing works are implemented regularly. The sub-department received and checked 1,129 sets of documents and uploaded on the website the self-declaration of the quality of processed food products in the agriculture sector, reaching 100% of the documents received.

Dealing with the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, especially the Hanoi Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Management Sub-Department continues to propose sustainable solutions, such as applying achievements of the industrial revolution 4.0 in quality management; maintaining the application QRcode to trace the origin of safe agricultural, forestry and fishery products in Hanoi; developing e-commerce platforms for consumption of safe agricultural, forestry and aquatic products; supporting building brands, promote agricultural products and improve the quality and value of the supply chain of agricultural, forestry and fishery products between Hanoi and localities nationwide from 2021-2022.
