Visiting Moc Chau Plateau, one will surely never forget the image of herds of dairy cows grazing on immense green pastures. At present, there are 500 households in the district engaged in raising dairy cows to provide milk to Moc Chau Milk. Each household raises at least 10-20 dairy cows and some families raise even one hundred dairy cows. Thanks to dairy farming, many of them have become billionaires. To develop the herds of dairy cows, the local farmers have received much support capital from Moc Chau Milk to buy breeding dairy cows. The company has provided training and the techniques of raising dairy cows, artificial insemination and cattle feed resources. It also built a transport infrastructure, electricity and water systems and particularly provides insurance policies on dairy cows and milk prices. All of this helps farmers feel secure when investing in raising dairy cows.

Vu Van Chinh, one of the billionaires from raising dairy cows in Moc Chau, said that he has been raising herds of dairy cows on green pastures for many years. During the first days of doing business, he received a loan of 20 million from Moc Chau Milk to buy a dairy cow. Now, he has a large herd of dairy cows to provide milk to the company. Like Chinh, many young farmers in the district have also had great success in raising dairy cows. Thanks to the dairy cow raising farms in Moc Chau, the company has a good milk resource for production.

Thanks to its sound policies, the company has continually developed a stable and high quality milk resource of 40,000-50,000 tonnes of milk/year provided by over 10,000 dairy cows. To further improve the capacity of production and ensure the quality of products, the company invested in building a synchronous and modern infrastructure system with an area of nearly 1,000ha for raising dairy cows, 10 dairy cow raising units, one centre for breeding cows and its techniques, one milk processing factory and one cattle feed processing factory.

With its experience of raising dairy cows for over 50 years, the company has overcome all difficulties to make a considerable contribution to developing the economy in Moc Chau Plateau. Annually, the company pays hundreds of billions of dong to the state budget and it has been awarded many prizes, namely the Silver Globe, High Quality Vietnamese Product, the Vietnamese Golden Star and the Golden Lotus Cup. Its high quality products consist of pasteurized fresh milk, yogurt, condensed milk, milk cake and cheese.

To implement the target of developing the husbandry business by 2015, the company plans to increase the number of dairy cows to 15,000-17,000 with a milk yield of 70,000-80,000 tonnes of milk/year. Apart from producing and processing milk, the company has carried out many interesting events, including the annual dairy cow beauty contest, organized tours for tourists to visit and try to do the work of dairy cow farmers on dairy cow raising farms and built a dairy cow raising farm in the service of tourists. All is aimed at promoting and introducing its products to the customers.

According to the development direction of the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Moc Chau District is one of five major areas for developing dairy cows in the country and Moc Chau Milk is the national centre for breeding dairy cows. These are favourable conditions for the company to affirm its product trademark in the market.
