Huyen Khong Pagoda is a well-known spiritual destination in Hue, located about 10 kilometers west of the city center in Kim Long Ward. Founded in 1973, the pagoda originally began as a small thatched hut dedicated to meditation. Over time, it gradually developed into a Zen monastery with significant influence within the Buddhist community of central Vietnam.

In 1989, to meet the growing needs for study and spiritual practice, the Venerable monks expanded the pagoda and built a larger complex in the mountainous area west of Hue. Surrounded by forests and tranquil landscapes, the pagoda offers visitors a peaceful retreat away from the bustle of urban life.

The architectural style of Huyen Khong Pagoda reflects the rustic elegance of traditional Hue culture. Its main hall was designed based on the architecture of Hue’s traditional “ruong” houses, using natural materials such as wood and fish-scale roof tiles that embody the spirit of ancient Hue and Vietnamese heritage. Beyond the main hall, the pagoda also features artistic garden spaces inspired by Japanese landscape architecture. Stone paths, ponds, bonsai trees, and quiet meditation corners blend harmoniously with nature, creating an atmosphere of serenity and contemplation. Every scene within the pagoda radiates peace, making Huyen Khong a unique cultural and spiritual landmark in Hue.
