From a local perspective, Bui Thi Xuyen, Chairwoman of the Na Hang Commune People’s Committee, noted that regional linkage is no longer optional but crucial for building large-scale, attractive and competitive tourism products. The partnership with Hanoi, a crucial feeder market, will help connect tourists to destinations in both localities.

Echoing this view, Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, emphasized that Hanoi and Tuyen Quang have highly complementary advantages. While Hanoi is a primary gateway and key travel hub in the North, Tuyen Quang provides an extended itinerary filled with beautiful sceneries and cultural and historical experiences that enrich visitors’ exploration of Vietnam.

Drawing from field surveys conducted by over 60 Hanoi-based travel agencies, new itineraries from two to four days have been introduced, including exploration of border area of Vi Xuyen and Tha Village; eco-adventures in Na Hang - Lam Binh; community-based and culinary tours in the highland; education programs on history and traditions; trekking, kayaking, cave exploration and authentic village stays.
Rather than promoting individual sites, the province is building its brand: "Tuyen Quang- A Land of Heritage, Ecology and Identity" which aims not only to extend length-of-stay but also to create opportunities for local communities to provide homestay, dining, guide and transport services, and introduce traditional handicrafts.

Building Sustainable Destinations
Regional linkage is merely a start. To make new tourist routes compelling and internationally competitive, it is crucial to improve service quality and develop tourism toward sustainability.
A priority is to protect the environment in eco-tourism complexes. Low-emission tourism, plastic waste reduction, standard eco-lodges and campsites, and the preservation of natural habitats are the foundation for long-term growth in Na Hang - Lam Binh and surrounding areas.

It is important to standardize local homestays, improve hospitality skills and foreign language for local hosts, and invest in infrastructure, including public toilets, rest stops, safety warnings and rescue at outdoor adventure sites. These are essential for travel agencies to market year-round services to foreign tourists.

Digital transformation is also driving progress. Tuyen Quang is developing a smart tourism ecosystem featuring digital maps, QR codes at tourist sites and online platforms that streamline information access and booking. Visual-driven marketing is also introduced to help travelers opt for itineraries suitable to their time, budget and personal interests.

Following survey and networking events, many Hanoi travel agencies plan to design new tours to Tuyen Quang while the municipal Department of Tourism will further work on brand promotion, market expansion and product development support.
Boasting an ecological lake, primeval forests, and a rich ecosystem, the Na Hang Lake area is designated as a key driver of Tuyen Quang Province's eco-tourism development.
The synergy between Hanoi and Tuyen Quang goes beyond expanding the northern tourism map. It is a visitor-centered approach to promote tourist destinations through preserving native culture, protecting the environment and enhancing regional connections. This collaboration model is set to help build internationally attractive itineraries while shaping a green, sustainable and culturally rich tourism industry.

From July 15 to 17, 2026, over 60 Hanoi travel firms participated in a field survey organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Tuyen Quang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to explore the development of inter-regional tours.
The survey team visited key destinations, including Vi Xuyen National Cemetery for Fallen Heroes, the Ha Giang Museum, Tha Cultural Village, Lam Binh and Na Hang. Highlights included exploring the Na Hang - Lam Binh Nature Reserve, Coc Vai Pha, Khuoi Nhi Waterfall, kayaking on Nam Chang Stream and community-based tourism models.
The survey findings will be used to design 2-day/1-night, 3-day/2-night, and 4-day/3-night itineraries connecting Hanoi, Tuyen Quang and prominent Northeast destinations to meet diverse demands of domestic and foreign tourists.
