Hanoi Promotes Regional Agricultural Products and OCOP Products

An Agricultural Products Fair, Regional Specialties - Lang Son custard apple, and a Week of Consulting, Introducing, and Promoting OCOP Products, Craft Villages, and Agricultural Products were organized in 2024 in Hanoi.  

On August 15, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Hanoi Rural Development Program Coordination Office, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), and the Lang Son Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, organized an Agricultural Products Fair, Regional Specialties - Lang Son custard apple, and a Week of Consulting, Introducing, and Promoting OCOP Products, Craft Villages, and Agricultural Products in 2024 in Hanoi.

At the opening ceremony, Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, stated that the program aims to support localities, enterprises, cooperatives, and agricultural production facilities in business development and market expansion; to promote and publicize brands, honor clean and safe agricultural, forestry, and fishery products; and to create a bridge between cooperatives, enterprises, and consumers, as well as between production and consumption.

Participating in the fair, the Lang Son Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a booth to promote and introduce Chi Lang loquat and other agricultural specialties and OCOP products of Lang Son province such as: Star anise, dried mac mat (clausena indica) fruit, seedless Bao Lam persimmon, Van Lang vanh khuyen persimmon, Trang Dinh black jelly, wild lemon, and Mau Son 6-toed chicken...

Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Head of the Hanoi New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, stated that in 2024, Hanoi will continue to evaluate and rank nearly 500 products to support OCOP participants in enhancing product value and quality...    

In addition, the fair featured a variety of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products produced organically, through eco-agriculture, and using high technology in production and processing; traditional handicraft products; OCOP products rated from 3 to 5 stars under the "One Commune One Product" program (OCOP program); and many famous agricultural products and specialties such as Thai Nguyen tea, Linh Son guava, Ly Son onion and garlic...

Simultaneously with the fair, the Week of Consulting, Introducing, and Promoting OCOP Products, Craft Villages, and Agricultural Products in Hanoi in 2024 was organized by the Hanoi Coordination Office of the New Rural Development Program. With 50 booths, the week-long event displayed, introduced, and sold agricultural products, OCOP products, and typical handicraft products of Hanoi and neighboring localities.

Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Head of the Hanoi Rural Development Program Coordination Office, said that since implementing the OCOP program in 2019, Hanoi has had 2,756 products, including 6 5-star products, 12 potential 5-star products, 1,491 4-star products, and 1,247 3-star products. In 2024, Hanoi continues to evaluate and rank nearly 500 products to support OCOP subjects in developing, improving the value and quality of products to meet the increasing demands of domestic consumers and towards export.

To promote the connection between Hanoi and the whole country, and the whole country with Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), especially with the participation of the Lang Son Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, promoted loquat and agricultural products, and specialties of the province.

    Dien pomelo, a specialty fruit of Hanoi, is also introduced at the event.

Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Director of the Hanoi Sub-department of Quality, Processing and Market Development, said that the event is an opportunity for OCOP subjects nationwide to exchange, connect trade, promote brands, and promote trade. At the same time, it helps subjects to jointly build supply chains and consume agricultural products. Currently, in Hanoi, there are 159 safe food chains from production to product consumption being maintained and developed. The chains have attracted many enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers to cooperate in building chains, contributing to stabilizing production and adapting to market trends.

The Agricultural Products Fair, Regional Specialties - Lang Son custard apple, and the Week of Consulting, Introducing, and Promoting OCOP Products, Craft Villages, and Agricultural Products in 2024 will be held until August 18 at the first floor of the agricultural exhibition building, 489 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hanoi.
