Facility preparations for APEC leaders’ week completed

Hanoi, October 12 (VNA) – All facility preparations, including hotels, a conference centre and a media centre, for the APEC Economic Leaders' Week are basically completed, the Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said in a regular press conference in Hanoi on October 12. 

To ensure that events of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week take place smoothly, formally and efficiently, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, Chairman of the APEC 2017 National Committee, had examined the rehearsal of events within the week and directed organisation plans as well as backup schemes for reception, press, logistics, security, medical care and food safety, Hang said. 

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week - the last and most important activity in the APEC Year 2017 - is scheduled to take place in central Da Nang city from November 6-11. 

Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum comprises 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.
