Contemporary dance classes give a new experience

The contemporary dance classes at Kinergie Studio provide participants of all ages in Vietnam, who have danced or never danced before, the opportunity to discover the movements of their own bodies and complete every class feeling fresh and full of energy.
Kinergie Studio was founded by dancers Do Hoang Thi Ngoc and Tran Hoang Long, who had studied in the UK and France, with the idea of bringing contemporary dance and ballet closer to the community through the classes, workshops and performances by Vietnamese and international artists.

Kinergie Studio is not only an address for the community to come and learn to dance but is also a nurturing space for young artists with creative and daring projects.

Students at Kinergie Studio are active in a variety of fields including education, marketing, communication and administration but they all share a passion for dance.

Kinergie Studio’s classes seek to build confidence for students and encourage them to operate as independent artists by allowing students to participate in dance workshops and create their own dances and perform them on stage.

Kinergie Studio’s workshops involve Vietnamese and international artists, aiming to introduce contemporary dances in the world. They include a practical workshop with Japanese artist Katsura Kan, a modern jazz workshop with French dancer Dede Guardiola, a workshop in release technique with talented Chilean-American contemporary dancer Felipe Oyarzun Moltedo and the workshop “Experimental Contemporary Meets Hip-Hop” with UK dancer Muti Musafiri.

One of the most outstanding contemporary dance projects of Kinergie Studio was “Moc nhan” (The Human Tree). “Moc nhan” is a conversation between humans and Mother Nature, which is about a quest for connectedness and the power of love. It premiered at the Quest Festival, and was also performed at Studio Dao Anh Khanh in Hanoi.

Dance is not just for dancers. Dance, especially contemporary dance, with its unlimited creativity, freedom, and power of connection, helps participants feel energetic and uplifted. Kinergie Studio has been expanding to further promote the benefits of dance as well as the arts for the development of individuals and the community. Through simple dance performances with music and movements, contemporary dance enables participants to explore the movements of their bodies, express all their deepest emotions and connect with others in a natural way.

Kinergie Studio hopes that their dance students will contribute to the love of art and culture and the passion for self-actualization as well as the endless creativeness.

“We have more than 700 students. This proves how dances have become so popular. We teach using improvisation, starting with the theme of freedom from which to promote the natural beauty hidden in each individual. Kinergie Studio's dance-based workshop “Connect and Create through Contemporary Dance” has given a new and innovative experience to teambuilding and training events,” said Do Hoang Thi Ngoc, Co-founder and Artistic Director of Kinergie Studio
