On July 25, 2013 President Barack Obama welcomed and had an important talk with Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang at the White House. It was the most important event during the Vietnamese President’s official visit to the US.
During their talks, the two leaders decided to establish a comprehensive partnership between the two countries on the principles of respect for the United Nations Charter and international law as well as for each other’s political institution, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
