A Vietnamese Pagoda in India

In India, there is a pagoda called Linh Son which was built in the Vietnamese architectural style. The pagoda is a destination for Vietnamese visitors during their spiritual tours in Kushinagar, India where the Buddha entered Nirvana. 
Linh Son Pagoda is headed by monk Tri Thuan. It was constructed in 1990 with a Vietnamese  architectural complex. In front of the gate of the main chamber wherethree Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Shangha are worshipped stands the statue of the Goddess of Mercy.The pagoda consists of twomonasteries equipped with 150 beds;a hall for meditationwith a capacity of 200 people and an dining room for 200 people.

Linh Son Pagoda has a school to teach over 600 students from the 1st grade to 12th grade.


Many students who graduated from the school are living and working in different localities in  India.
 

The pagoda has a school for over 600 students from the 1st grade to 12th grade. About 5,000 people in India have been taught there and many of them have become highly respected monks. The pagoda  has a department to provide medicine free of charge for students and victims of natural disasters and fire.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the pagoda to Kushinagar where the Buddha entered Nirvana – one of the four most sacred sanctuaries of Buddhism (Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath and Kushinagar).
