With a great passion for fashion and a desire for creating designs imbued with national cultural traits, young designer Pham Thi Hue Anh created Collection 24 inspired by Sa Pa.

Designer Pham Thi Hue Anh.

Born and raised in Lao Cai province, Hue Anh found her passion for fashion when she was a child because her parents are tailors. After graduation from high school, Hue Anh entered the London College for Design & Fashion in Hanoi.

Hue Anh said that she has wanted to do this collection since entering the school. She did research to create a collection with designs that reflect the landscape and the H’mong in Sa Pa.

It took Hue Anh three months to come up with the idea for Collection 24 and three more months to develop the idea into sketches. Thanks to the support of her teachers at the college, she selected the best designs to sew into complete outfits. Hue Anh went to the markets and households of the H’mong to buy suitable cloth for designs in this collection.

Collection 24 consists of seven unique designs that present the natural scenery, terraced fields and the traditional architecture of the houses of ethnic people. She used the major colors of green, red, orange and pink for her creations.

According to Hue Anh, this was her first collection of ethnic fashion. In the near future, she will continue to follow the direction of developing fashion products imbued with national cultural identities because she can find the raw materials in her hometown of Lao Cai.
