Ho Chi Minh City, January 2 (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City authorities presented the title of “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to 141 women in 16 urban and four rural districts during a ceremony on January 2.
Among them, only four are still alive and able to receive the title.
Speaking at the event, Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang expressed his gratitude for heroic Vietnamese mothers and fallen soldiers for their sacrifice to the great national revolutionary cause.
With the recognition, Ho Chi Minh City currently records a total of 4,574 heroic Vietnamese mothers.
Across the country, more than 59,000 women have been awarded with the title.
