Leader extends Tet wishes to police, workers on Lunar New Year’s Eve TTXVN

Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong visited police officers, staff of the National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) and environmental workers of Hanoi who were on duty on the last night of the Year of the Dog on February 4.

He was accompanied by Minister of Public Security To Lam, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai and other officials.

The Party and State leader hailed efforts by the traffic-order police team of Ba Dinh district, which houses the headquarters of many central agencies and ministries, in ensuring political security and social order and safety.

He said their tasks become even heavier during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday when they have to ensure absolute security and safety for people to enjoy a merry Tet.

He wished them as well as police officers nationwide health, happiness and tasks fulfilled in the Year of the Pig.

Visiting the NLDC of the Vietnam Electricity group (EVN), Party General Secretary and President Trong spoke highly of the sector’s active preparations to ensure power supply throughout Tet. He also applauded their efforts to develop the electricity sector into one of the spearhead industries critical to national industrialisation and modernisation.

The EVN has helped ensure energy security, and it should bring into play its achievements in the time ahead, the leader added.

On this occasion, he also talked to electricity workers at Con Co Island, the Son La hydropower plant and the 500kV substation in Dong Anh district of Hanoi via video calls.

On Thanh Nien street, the leader met and talked to residents and environmental workers of Hanoi.

Also on the Lunar New Year’s Eve, General Secretary and President Trong and other officials offered incense at 1,500 year-old Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of the oldest pagodas in Hanoi, and Quan Thanh Temple to pray for national peace and prosperity and people’s happiness.-VNA/VNP
