Lawmakers consider dismissal of Cabinet members

Hanoi, April 8 (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc submitted proposals on removing several Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of ministers and other Cabinet members to the 13th National Assembly’s 11th meeting in Hanoi on April 8.

The Government members on the list are:

- Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member, President and Minister of Public Security, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Public Security.

- Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, to be relieved from his duty as as Deputy Prime Minister.

- Vu Van Ninh, former member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, to be relieved from his duty as Deputy Prime Minister.

- Dinh La Thang, Politburo member, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party’s Committee and Minister of Transport, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Transport.

- Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo member and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, to be relieved from his duty as Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

- Phung Quang Thanh, former Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of National Defence.

- Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office and Minister-Chairman of the Government Office, to be relieved from his duty as Minister-Chairman of the Government Office.

- Nguyen Thai Binh, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Home Affairs, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Home Affairs.

- Ha Hung Cuong, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Justice, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Justice.

- Bui Quang Vinh, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Planning and Investment, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Planning Investment.

- Vu Huy Hoang, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Industry and Trade, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Industry and Trade.

- Trinh Dinh Dung, member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Construction, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Construction.

- Nguyen Minh Quang, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

- Nguyen Bac Son, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Information and Communications, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Information and Communications.

- Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, to be relieved from her duty as Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

- Hoang Tuan Anh, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

- Nguyen Quan, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Science and Technology, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Science and Technology.

- Pham Vu Luan, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Education and Training, to be relieved from his duty as Minister of Education and Training.

- Giang Seo Phu, former member of the Party Central Committee and Minister-Chairman of the Government’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs, to be relieved from his duty as Minister-Chairman of the Government’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs.

- Huynh Phong Tranh, former member of the Party Central Committee and Government Inspector General, to be relieved from his duty as Government Inspector General.

Lawmakers then discussed in groups the dismissal of the named Deputy PMs, ministers and Cabinet members.

During the afternoon session, they cast their secret ballots on the discharge of these posts.
