The UK Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Level presented the title’s certificate to the Health Minister at a ceremony in Hanoi on March 10.
The ambassador said the title is granted in recognition of the minister’s contributions to scientific research cooperation between the two countries when she was head of the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute in the past and to the development of Vietnam’s health sector as head of the Health Ministry.
Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien became the first Vietnamese to be awarded with the title on October 17, 2013.
After the title-presenting ceremony, Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and Ambassador Giles Level held talks to discuss priority contents in cooperation between Vietnam and the UK.
