Five coffee nurseries enabled to join VnSAT project in Dak Nong

They are three nurseries in Duc Minh commune (Dak Mil district); one in Nghia Phu ward (Gia Nghia town) and one in Kien Duc town (Dak R’Lap district).

With a total area of 1.9 hectares, the five nurseries are capable of providing nearly 1 million saplings for the re-plantation of 800 hectares.

Dak Nong has more than 125,000 hectares of coffee. Of the total area, commercial coffee farms account for 113,000ha, with an annual average output of 250,000 tonnes of coffee beans.

Since 2012, the province has launched a coffee re-plantation programme to grow new coffee varieties with higher yield and quality.

By the end of 2016, the area of newly-grown coffee trees had reached 8,000 hectares. Dak Nong aims to have a total of 22,100 hectares of replanted and grafted coffee trees by 2020.
