Hanoi, September 26 (VNA) – Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received Australian Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, Chief of Australia’s Navy, in Hanoi on September 26.
In the meeting, the Vietnamese official spoke highly of the positive development of the relationship between the two armies.
The progressive ties are attributable to the exchange of delegations, annual defence consultations and mutual support in relevant regional multilateral conferences, he said.
Notably, the two sides cooperated on naval training and the deployment of medical and engineering corps as part of the United Nations’ peace-keeping operations, he noted.
