Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand takes office

Hanoi, September 19 (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Viet Dung presented his credentials to Governor-General of New Zealand Jerry Mateparae at a ceremony in the capital Wellington on September 17 to start his working term there.

Governor-General Mateparae congratulated Dung on his new mission while showing his delight that the two countries are carrying out the second phase (2013-2016) of their action plan together with activities to herald the 40 th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2015.

He said he would ask relevant local agencies to wholeheartedly support the Ambassador to successfully accomplish his working tenure.

For his part, Dung passed onto the regards from President Truong Tan Sang and other leaders to his host and briefed him of the country’s socio-economic and international integration accomplishments as well as its future development goals and strategies.

He pledged to undertake maximum efforts to deepen extensively and intensively bilateral relations, especially in diplomacy, defence, security, trade-investment, education-training, culture-tourism, and agriculture in the coming time.
