Vietnam, RoK police boost cooperation

Hanoi, November 10 (VNA) – Senior officials from the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security and the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) stressed the need to enhance collaboration in crime prevention at a meeting in Hanoi on November 9.

Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang and Chief of the KNPA Kang Shin-myung agreed to implement more effectively the signed cooperation agreements and improve coordination mechanisms via increasing delegation exchanges, mutual assistance in personnel training and technical equipment, aiming to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The RoK has become a key strategic partner of Vietnam , Minister Quang said, adding that the two sides hold great potential to expand cooperation programmes and projects.

He congratulated the KNPA on its 70th founding anniversary.

For his part, Kang Shin-myung applauded the remarkable achievements that the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security has gained over the past seven decades, contributing to the cause of national construction, reunification and defence.

The officials witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the External Relations Departments of Vietnam Ministry of Public Security and the KNPA.
