Vietnam, Bolivia to strengthen all-round affiliation

La Paz, May 20 (VNA) – Bolivian President Evo Morales and Vietnamese Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan met in La Paz on May 19, stressing their determination to expand the countries’ multi-faceted cooperation for mutual benefit.

Vice President Doan, who was on an official visit to Bolivia from May 18-19, congratulated the Latin American country on its socio-economic accomplishments in the past decade, including a fair growth rate and improved living standards.

She stated that Vietnam attaches importance to reinforcing solidarity and mutually beneficial multi-faceted cooperation with Bolivia, especially in energy, telecommunications and agriculture.

She also thanked the Bolivian Government and people for their support to Vietnam historically and currently.

President Evo Morales expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s national protection and ‘Doi moi’ (Renewal) achievements, deeming the country an example for his nation to learn from, as both nations share a number of historical and developmental similarities.

He stressed that Bolivia is willing to intensify the bilateral friendship and comprehensive collaboration, adding that his country continually supports Vietnam in national development and defence.

He also asked Vice President Doan to convey his invitation to other Vietnamese leaders to visit Bolivia and expressed his intent to visit the Southeast Asian nation in late 2015.

Also on May 19, Doan met with representatives of top Bolivian companies to present Vietnam’s business climate and investment opportunities.

She affirmed that Vietnam pledges favourable conditions for the two business circles to partner, ultimately bringing their economic relations on par with the countries’ political ties.
