Vietnam attends meeting on economic integration in Argentina

Buenos Aires, May 22 (VNA) – Vietnam participated in a seminar on economic integration organised by the Centre for Economy and International Commerce (CEECI) in the Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires on May 21.

The seminar attracted representatives from a number of businesses, economists and students.

At the event, the representative of the Vietnamese Commercial Affairs mission to Argentina gave the participants an overview of Vietnam’s economic policies and global integration process as well as the Government’s priorities towards foreign investors.

Participants also discussed investment opportunities and bilateral trade potentials.

Ambassador Felipe Frydman, who has worked on assignments in a number of countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), appreciated the achievements made by Vietnam in terms of global and regional integration, stressing ASEAN’s potential in trade and investment cooperation.

Vietnam’s exports to Argentina reached 214.2 million USD while imports stood at 1.7 billion USD in 2014.

Vietnam exported footwear, garments, tea, coffee and agricultural machinery to Argentina and imported animal feed, grains, leather and beef from the South American country.
