Regarding regional issues, the two countries exchanged their views on reefs embellishments, which causes harm to peace, stability, and aviation and navigation security and safety in the East Sea, where major and busy maritime routes connecting European and East Asia run through.

Accordingly, the Italian President affirmed that his country supports Vietnam’s position in the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with international law to maintain navigation and aviation freedom as well as ensure safety and security in the region.
