The Beauty of Hoan Kiem Lake during the Season of Loc Vung Trees Shedding Their Leaves

In the first days of March, many Loc vung (Barringtonia acutangula) trees near Sword Lake begin shedding their leaves. Before they shed, all of the green leaves turn yellow and red, creating romantic scenery like in Europe. Vietnam Pictorial’s reporters took wonderful photos for readers to enjoy.

Most leaves change colors in autumn  whereas Loc vung sheds its leaves in spring.
Therefore, seeing the red and yellow leaf canopies of Loc vung trees, many people think of autumn in Hanoi. Photo: Cong Dat
Thông thường những loại cây khác thay lá vào mùa thu, riêng lộc vừng lại thay lá vào mùa xuân.
