Spring-Summer Fashion Collection 2015

Vietnam Spring-Summer Fashion Week 2015 introduces Hanoi fashion lovers to the latest fashion trend through casual and couture collections by both domestic and foreign designers.
Besides familiar names such as Minh Hanh, Ha Duy, Minh Minh, DuyenHuong, Ngoc Han, Tran Duc Hai, the event attracted the participation of Italian designer Michele Gaudiomonte, Malaysian designer Eric Choong and three young Vietnamese designers – Hai Sieu, QuocKhai and Tien Dat who won prizes at the Muc Tim Style Contest 2014.

This year, international trends like asymmetric, sporty, army design and tassels were displayed by several designers .During the four-night show, the Vietnamese designers presented their collectionsof different styles, such as simple graphic designs by Elise and jeans-made costumes made using modern Italian technology by GenViet.

With Minh Hanh’s designs, the audience saw familiar images with generous, sharp, energetic and creative cuts. Cong Khanh expressed his rebellious personality. Truong Thanh Long used to be one of the brightest designers of Vietnam Fashion Week and after many years of absence, returned with an impressive men’s collection. Vu Viet Ha balanced traditional and modern aspects through the use of digital a printing technique and Hanoi images. The collections launched this time partly reflected the criteria of honoring Vietnam’s identity through the use of traditional materials such as silk and brocade and lacquered motifs.

The catwalk, for the first time, marked the debut of Hai Sieu, the 17 year old winner of the Muc Tim Contest 2014with a collection in a sporty style showing the youth’s dream. QuocKhai, the second runner up introduced a collection showing the contrasted beauty of women through camouflage patterns and chemise crew necks and Tien Dat, the third runner up, designed costumes with moving streaks of colour.

Participating in the show, Michele Gaudiomonte introduced his collection of silk designs while Eric Choong impressed the audience with his designs made from batik with drawn dots and lines.Spanish designer Diego Cortizas del Valle brought the audience a world of tropical forests with green trees and buds.

Vietnam Spring-Summer Fashion Week 2015 aims to show the identity and the language of Vietnamese fashion and to introduce designs in line with the needs of Vietnamese consumers. It is the first activity of the Italian-Vietnam Fashion Council in Hanoi to create an impetus for Vietnam’s fashion sector to quickly integrate into and catch up with the world’s trends./.
