Leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh on National Day

Ho Chi Minh City, September 1 (VNA) – A delegation of leaders of the Party, Government and Ho Chi Minh City offered incense to the late President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in HCM City on September 1 on the occasion of August Revolution Day (August 19) and the 69 th anniversary of National Day (September 2).

The delegation included Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Defence Minister Phung Quang Thanh, Public Security Minister Tran Dai Quang, and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary Le Thanh Hai, among others.

They also visited the ongoing museum exhibition showcasing the late leader’s testament and the triumphs Vietnam has achieved in the last 45 years of implementing Ho Chi Minh’s will.

The location of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in HCM City , at Nha Rong Port , is where the late leader, at that time known as Nguyen Tat Thanh, commenced his journey abroad in 1911 in search of ways to liberate Vietnam .

In 1945, President Ho Chi Minh led the country to victory in the August Revolution, forming the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which in turn became today’s Socialist Republic of Vietnam .

On the same day, the city also organised photograph exhibitions at the Youth Cultural House, in Chi Lang Park and along Dong Khoi Street in celebration of these special occasions.

The exhibitions will run until September 10.
