KFA pledges to support Vietnam U20 at U20 World Cup

Hanoi, November 18 (VNA) – President of the Korea Football Association (KFA) Chung Mong Gyu pledged his association will foster cooperation with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and aid Vietnam’s preparations for the U20 World Cup in the Republic of Korea next year.

During his talks with VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan in Hanoi on November 17, KFA President Chung Mong Gyu congratulated Vietnam U20 for its excellent performance in the recent final round of the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) U19 Championship, qualifying for the FIFA U20 World Cup for the first time in history.

He also hailed the achievements Vietnam U16 has made to enter the quarter-finals of the AFC U16 Championship 2016.

Tuan thanked the association for its support for the Vietnamese team during a training camp in late October.

He also expressed his belief that the host will prepare well for the U20 World Cup.

The two sides agreed to continue elevating their cooperation to develop the two nations’ football and to build their reputation in the continent and the world.
