Deputy Prime Minister commences Mozambique visit

Maputo, July 30 (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and his entourage begin a three-day Mozambique visit on July 29, at the invitation of the host country’s Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário.

On the first day of the visit, the Vietnamese delegation laid a wreath at the statue of Samora Machel, the first President of Mozambique after independence.

After visiting a boulevard named after Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh in central Maputo, the delegation met with staff of the Vietnam Embassy, during which Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung reported on the development of economic and trade ties between the two countries.

He was also briefed on the work of Vietnamese experts in education, health and agriculture, who are currently working in the country under bilateral cooperation pacts between the two nations.

Agreeing with Ambassador Trung, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said the Vietnam-Mozambique relations has recorded progresses but still felt short of potential, thus requiring a greater stimulation towards the sides’ commercial affiliation.
